I'd been to Stour Meadows at Blandford Forum, Dorset, in pursuit of Otters. It was a rather disappointing trip in that respect, but you can always rely on the Black-headed Gull.
I decided to move to Langford Lakes at Steeple Langford, Wiltshire. This is a site owned and run by the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. I fared a little better there with some shots of a Chaffinch ...
... and a Dunnock.
A later trip to Langford Lakes found the Chaffinch crew still dominating the reserve.
... and an interesting looking female Blackbird.
Where there are bird-feeders expect to find the resourceful Brown Rat:

On my next visit to Blandford, I had better luck. I don't really hanker after the Loch Ness Monster style
images of Otters. (2 brown humps moving across the water)
Whilst filling in time waiting for an Otter appearance, I had a pleasant surprise:

Before I left, I tried my hand at photographing Kingfisher on the opposite bank of the river.
These were extreme range shots. Memo to self: Go back there with a wider assortment of kit!
