The final group was taken at the RSPB reserve at Fairburn Ings, West Yorkshire.  It was my first ever visit to this reserve.  I was visiting Lancashire and had planned a photographic outing on the west side of the country on this day.  However, the weather on the western side of Britain was appalling when the day dawned and the forecast was for no improvement.  I fled the rain and crossed the Pennines for a dry day on the eastern side.

The Rut

The ‘red’ theme seems to continue this week. But this time it’s deer    Red Deer, the UK’s largest native mammal.  All the images were taken on my annual October visit to Bushy Park, Middlesex.  Unfortunately the weather conditions meant that there are no mysterious mists or clouds of breath as the stags roar.

My most difficult task has been choosing which pictures to post from the many that I took.
