Blashford Lakes

It was the day that the clocks were moved forward and 'early' meant 'early'.

All the usual suspects were there.

Gadwall

Black-headed Gull

I took advantage of the strong, steady wind that was blowing from left to right and took some in-flight images that morning.

Tufted Duck

Mallard (you can see the effect of the wind on the back of his head)

Canada Goose

Little Grebe

Dive!

Giving it all!

The waves look so large with such a small bird.

Grey Wagtail

Goosander

Greylake; bright day

These images were captured after lunch on the same day as those in last week's blog.  Still on the Somerset Levels, they were taken at the RSPB reserve at Greylake.

Chaffinch

Coot

Shoveler

Reed Bunting

Dropping in

Boing!!

The preceding Reed Bunting were in the car park where they readily pose for visitors.  Those that follow were out in the reedbeds by the water.
