A Mixed Bag

This week's posting is a mixed bag consisting of a handful of images from each of three locations.  I'm afraid there's nothing very special.

So, in date order ...

Morecambe Bay:

Brown's Houses, Silverdale

The lane ends at this building and, to continue round Jenny Brown's Point, the walker has to take a path that follows the shoreline.

Shelduck

Lapwing

Redshank (mostly)

Wigeon

I was visiting RSPB Leighton Moss, the scene of the BBC's 'Autumn Watch 2013'.  These images were taken from the Eric Morecambe Hide.  The weather deteriorated rapidly from my arrival onwards.  By the time I went into the reserve proper for some lunch the rain was falling in sheets rather than in rods.  I had a rain cover for my camera and lens, but the wildlife had (sensibly) gone into hiding.

The reserve caters for the intrepid visitor and the soup-of-the-day changes at about 1.30pm.  Those in need of a further bowlful can enjoy a different taste!

Stourhead:

The Pantheon (HDR image)

Mallard

Mute Swan

Steeple Langford:

Gadwall

(plus Tufted Duck)

Great Crested Grebe

Black-headed Gull

Tufted Duck  ♀
