Most of these images were taken over the course of several visits to Shapwick Heath and RSPB Greylake in the month of June 2012.
Shapwick Heath:

Roe Deer |
This was the only photograph I managed on a rather unproductive day!
One of the exceptions – taken at Steeple Langford, Wiltshire:

Dunnock |
Shapwick Heath:

Carrion Crow |
Footnote: It did not get fed!

"What's up there?" |
Greylake:
I encountered this family of Mute Swan on one of the board walks in the reserve. The cob was about 100m away on the edge of one of the drains – fast asleep.

Waking up |
|
Not my leg! |
|
Posing |
|
Just looking pretty |
|
"I thinks that's my back" |
|
Dreaming |
|
Miles away! |
Although the pen was happy to let me get down on the board-walk with her and the brood, she refused to let me pass. I had to return the way I had come!
|
Reed Bunting |
... and the other exception. Taken at RSPB Otmoor near Oxford. Fortunately, I hadn't made a special journey there. I'd been in Chipping Norton, Oxon., trying on a new Stealth Gear™ jacket. At Otmoor, the weather was deteriorating and the wind was blowing ever more strongly. This Reed Bunting is the only worthwhile image I obtained.
