In February I visited the Hawk Conservancy, near Andover, Hampshire. It wasn't the first time I had been there and it won't be the last. It's about an hour's drive from here.
My first images were taken before any of the displays started.

A lot of wing to fold away |
After this display it was time for lunch. There is an excellent restaurant that serves bowls of hot soup. Just the thing on a cold day.
Before the first afternoon display I wandered over to a hide overlooking a field where there might have been a chance of seeing a Short-eared Owl. There was a horse!
The main feature of the next display was a female Snowy Owl.
These images were acquired over the course of three flights.
 |
(Tercel or Tiercel) Peregrine |
I've never yet captured one on the wing. They go a bit too fast for me!
 |
Black Kite |
The final display of the day was in a small wooded area. Unfortunately the light was fading rapidly.

Ural Owl |
 |
Harris Hawk |
 |
Tawny Owl |
