Before I introduce the birds of prey, here are four images taken on a local walk.
| The Pantheon, Stourhead Estate, Wiltshire |
| Robin |
This Robin had a badly injured left eye. I have to suspect that the bird would not survive.
| Great Tit |
| Mallard x |
The rest of the images were taken at Liberty's Raptor Centre, Ringwood, Hampshire.
| Alaskan Bald Eagle |
| Ferruginous Hawk |
| Perlin Falcon (Peregrine x Merlin) |
| Lanner Falcon |
| Peregrine Falcon |
| Kestrel |

The next three were taken indoors in very low light. Canon makes claims for the low-light performance of the EOS 5D MkIII body – these were taken using ISO 20,000.
| Southern White-faced Owl |
| Tawny Owl |
| Barn Owl |
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back to the daylight:
| Tawny Eagle |
| "Wipe your own mouth" |
| Siberian Eagle Owl |
The Siberian Eagle Owl is the biggest Owl in the world. This is a young female. Females are bigger than males and could easily kill one. Each foot has a grip of 250psi* and the rear talon has been known to penetrate a crash-helmet.
