This is the continuation from last week's blog.
After lunch I went to Greylake and that is where these images were taken.
Snipe are exceedingly well camouflaged and there have been occasions when I've had them under my nose and failed to spot them for ages. They're quite a small bird - 23-28cm long including a bill that is c7cm. On this occasion they were more obliging and some were in (relatively) plain view in the December afternoon sunshine. Some of the images have been manipulated a little to help the bird stand out better from its background.
