I arrived at Shapwick Heath on the Somerset Levels shortly after sunrise, walked alongside the Glastonbury Canal drain, entered Noak's Hide and sat and waited.

Around midday I adjourned to Eco-Friendly Bites at the Avalon Centre for a warming bowl (well, recyclable mug really) of hot soup. I was joined by a bold Robin.
