Still close to home

I've not been travelling too far from home lately.  I'm watching local sites for any potential courtship and breeding behaviour that I can capture.  (Bearing in mind the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981, Schedule 1, of course.)

Stourhead, Wiltshire:

Great Tit

Dunnock

Robin

Since these Robin images were taken my subject seems to have acquired a mate.  Alternate mealworms given are taken off into nearby shrubbery.

Steeple Langford, Wiltshire (spread over 2 days):

Long-tailed Tit

I normally avoid photographs of birds on feeders and prefer to catch them 'off the food source'.  However, I couldn't resist this one.

Great Crested Grebe

Black-headed Gull

Mute Swan (with his back to the stiff breeze)

Mallard

Tufted Duck

Great Crested Grebe

Shake it all about
