Henstridge fly-in

Henstridge airfield was originally one of several dispersal-fields for RNAS Yeovilton in World War II.  It's only 10 minutes from here so, when I saw that there was to be a fly-in day in support of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, I decided to go along.

Where I have information, I'll include it with the images.  If there's none, assume my ignorance!

The Air Ambulance is based at the airfield, which sits on the Dorset/Somerset boundary.  I think that the boundary-line was deviated around one end to ensure that the airfield was contained within one authority's area.

Red Arrows Team Manager flying at #10

The Red Arrows were transiting between venues and it had been arranged that they should over-fly the event.  They inevitably transit at low altitude and usually do so in 'Big Battle Formation'.  That's where they are spread laterally in a large shallow V.  The Team Manager accompanies the Display Team and flies at #10  –  behind and below the leader.  They call that formation 'Big Big Battle Formation'.
