These are photographs taken whilst I was travelling between Châteauroux, l'Indre, and Brive-la-Gaillarde, Corrèze. I went off the main roads via the villages of Nohant-Vic and Gargilesse-Dampierre, both in l'Indre, to see the properties associated with the author Amandine-Lucile-Aurore Dupin, best known by her pseudonym George Sand. My interest stems more from her romantic connection with Frédéric Chopin, the Polish composer, than from her vast contribution to literature.
